CJs Droppin' HZ Car Audio F150 1/3 Bed Rack Update

Recommended Posts

So I found a small bit of motivation to get a little bit done today.

First I grabbed the rage and did a little work to clean up the port. Will still have to sand this later.

Next up, quick test fit.

Ok so to properly mount and secure 1" thick plexi, I decided to use the 1/4" flat bar that I had left. Cut to length, screwed in place, and then all pieces welded together.

Then the real fun stuff. Time to drill and tap all of the mounting holes for the plexi.

So this is where I stopped this afternoon. I have since added more rage to plexi cutouts to clean up the edge where steel meets wood. I will get this all sanded down shortly and call it a night. I will then be ready to mount the loading wall.

I dont think I posted this one yet.

One of the many uses of the SMD IMSG, it can be used to find the resonant frequency of the sealed side of a 4th order. This is done before putting the loading wall on. Here is is showing my peak frequency at 51hz. Now have to keep in mind that these are freshly built subs that are very stiff. Once they break in, this will change. On average we usually see about a 3-5hz drop on this once fully broken in which we need to allow for when tuning the port. In this case I think I am going to go with a tuning of 46hz.
