CarAudioFab Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 Thanks for sharing Second Skin! I want to point out this video has explanations for the different types of sound treatment materials. There is much more to the sound “deadening” process than simply applying the Damplifer CLD materials to the metal of the vehicle. This video also addresses the use of Mass Loaded Vinyl “MLV” (Second Skins Luxury Liner Product) and Closed Cell Foam “CCF” (Second Skins Overkill Product. alex912005 Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Nice explanation for the different materials. Most guys think that just by sticking some cld to their doors they eliminate outside noise, which is not the case. Also for cld to work, you don't need full coverage, you need at least 30% coverage in the central parts of the panel to control resonance. However, for mlv to work, 100% coverage is needed and all the seams must be sealed with aluminum foil tape. Quote My Build Log
