But basically any and all AMD GPUs can run DX12 where as on certain Nvidia GPUs some features are not available or are different. I really hope this helps AMD and the 3xx series because I feel like that card really, really flopped. And with the experience I have with my 2 290's, if DX12 doesn't somehow make amd newer tech worthwhile, I am probably switching next time around to the green team. audiofanaticz Posted July 30, 2015 Report Share Posted July 30, 2015 You wont notice a difference with DX12 when your running games that use DX11 or lower. Things like battlefield 4 is DX11, so if there is any performance gain it would be due to a better optimized operating system. The big gain however will be if they allow sli users to use each cards memory effectivly, as it is now, 3 cards with 3gb of memory on each cards is still just 3gb of memory since each cards memory modules are doing the same thing. With directx12 the ability is there for each of your cards to buffer something different on the memory giving you a total of the actual 9gb of combined memory on your cards.
