MOHpro
When using the DD 1 to set the gain on any amp, I know that all EQ are suppose to be set at zero or flat. I have an Alpine CDE-123 HU. It has a subwoofer level control which goes from 0 to +15. When I am setting the gain on the sub amp, am I suppose to have the subwoofer level on the HU set to the max of +15? Thanks
MOHpro
Or am I suppose to have it set halfway at +7 or +8, or set at 0?
RooTxBeeR
When ever I have, I max that out. That increases the output voltage of the sub RCA, making it easier for your amp to match the voltages. Edit: You can try which ever you want, I believe what I typed ^^^ is right. MOHpro
Thanks guys. I set my sub amp with the subwoofer level on the HU set at 0. I used track 4 on disc A for maximum sound quality. The sub doesn't sound the best until it is in the volume range of 30-34, with 34 being the max undistorted volume on the HU. I will try again with the subwoofer level on the HU set at its max of +15 and see what the difference is. Also, when I set the gains on my 4 channel full range amp, (which i am using the HP filters on), i set the gain with the filter switch set to off. Is this the correct filter setting when setting the gain on the 4 channel amp, even though I am using it on the HP setting?
ILuvJDM
I had the same issue with my setup. I could only get the DD1 to blip red light not stay on. I always assumed the bass level was bass boost so I left it at zero but after that I realized it's just output level and turned it up to +15. Then the DD1 setup was a breeze

You want all filters to either be at their farthest range away if they can't be turned off. But always turn them off if that is a possibility. When you have a filter on, it may hinder the DD-1 ability to detect distortion at what ever frequency range you are trying to read. Jessica
i would just check what the deck distorts at with track 2 on the other pre-outs first. then set the sub out level to match using track 1.
