the King of ROCK and Roll Elvis Presley in his prime

Recommended Posts

Ok so i spend a lot of time watching rock and roll video's on youtube, because i just love music and have a deep respect for the talent it takes to be a rockstar. A REAL rock star. I watch lots of guitar solo's and wonder where i went wrong in life because i wish that was me haha!! Same for the drums. I have always wished i could play music but never could pull it together. Anyway, i really like to look at classic live video of the older bands like Led Zepplin and see what this Jimmy Page shit is all about. Yes, i know the name, yes i know he is great, but that was just one generation before my time. I am an 80's kid (although born in the 70's). But beside the point, i really like watching these people because they are amazing and it blows me away i never knew how good they really are. I love Youtube for that!

But on the original topic, somehow i got pulled into some old Elvis Presley stuff after chewing on some edibles (from the club) last night LOL.....(i had a major headache so sue me). Anyway, i was watching this stuff and i was really blown away. Never really gave it much thought because i think the later, softer shit (when he was near death) was really cheesy.....but damn, look at some of the stuff from when he was in his prime. I don't think there is anyone more cool than this guy EVER LOL. Can you imagine the pus*** cough cough woman this guy could land......holy shit. I almost tossed my draws at the screen

All jokes aside, am i the only one who is just realizing how fucking badass this guy was? YES i knew he was but only because i was supposed to know he was.....but seeing it on YT really opened my eyes. Definitely the KING of Rock and Roll.

Music back then was better then what we have now. Yes we like what we have now but just look at it this was. Most the music in the old days could have be heard around anyone or anywhere. Now with our music we have to watch out for who's around where you are and who might it offend.

We still like it.

I bump the offensive music but I'm aware there are other people around so I turn it down. Play old music and people asks to turn it up

We do have great artist now we just don't appreciate them at this moment. 20 years from now we will admire the talent Michel Bublé has

That's because today's music is offensive. They didn't always use to sing about drugs, ho's, stuff like that... I wish I was alive back then.

actually if you listen to it they did. Some of that shit is just as bad if not worse if you listen close enough LOL

also, don't forget, THIS music (Elvis) was highly offensive like it was Satan in the flesh to some..

so some people just have sensitivity issues. Same people who get offended by lyrics in a song will go watch Arnold Shwartznegger *sp or Rambo mow down 100 people with a machine gun or watch Jason on friday the 13th murder teenagers who are having sex.

remember, music, songs are just stories like a movie is. So you should never be more offended by a song than you would by a tv show or movie. It's all an act and if they did such a great job making you believe the stuff they are saying and were offended by it, they did their job well. LOL.

When I'm near that girl that I love best

My heart beats so it scares me to death!

Well she touched my hand what a chill I got

Her lips are like a volcano when it's hot

I'm proud to say that she's my buttercup

I'm in love

I'm all shook up

Mm mm mm, mm, yay, yay, yay

There's nothing offensive about that.

Listen to Ying Yang Twins - Pull My Hair. Now that's offensive...

Then what did they sing about?
