Hi guys, saw the OM-1 fell in love with it. Ordered the two pack along with DD-1 2 days ago. Now the worst part is waiting for it to reach me here in Belize. Shipping to my country has a ridiculously high cost, so I'm waiting on my old man to a take trip to IL. Should be back in around 2-3 weeks and he will bring it back. In the mean time, trying to figure out where it can be mounted in my 06 Avalanche. I like the location Steve has his in his Tahoe but I'm no fabricator. I'm thinking about the storage pocket below the Cig Lighter or the smaller pocket above it. What size are the SMD gauges? OM-1

Edit: Storage area I'm referring to. gm12499984.jpg

Thanks for the reply man, now I gotta measure up that little storage compartment at the bottom. Looking at the top one, doesn't seem it would fit, however it does have a slight angle facing the driver.

Unfortunately for you, the top pocket, you could get one, but the second one will definitely stick over the top edge. The bottom pocket you'll have about a quarter inch on top and bottom between the meter and the edge, which makes it a good location for them. 2003 Tahoe owner. Same dash.

Thanks man. Do you have a picture of yours that you could post? Would like to get an idea of how you did yours. Seeing that I am only getting two, I'll probably have to center them at the bottom pocket.

I don't have mine there. I've only test fitted it for the day I get one. I have the VM-1, which is the same size, but I put it in the little pocket above that to the right of the radio for now.

Got ya, I don't have that pocket as I have the traction button there. I'll stick with the plan of the bottom storage.

I'm sure if you browse through some of the GM NBS model truck/SUV build logs, you'll find someone who has done it in that pocket of you need to look at it first.
