Need a big boy 15" sub, something that'll take 5000 watts rms plus.

Recommended Posts

Looking for input on getting a new sub for next season. Currently running a rebuilt/modded 15" Adire audio Brahma mkII in a 3.5ft^3 box with a 9" x 18" external octoport in a 2011 toyota sienna minivan on 2500 watts. Our local group basically does a bass boxing style comp with termlabs in which the meter is placed on the headrest, dash, and kick. Then they do 15, 30, 45 second runs in which an average is calculated. Your total average score is what is used to judge you against other competitors in your class.

Currently averaging 143.4 dbs at 54hz. I can burp it like they do in meca and hit 146.7db at the windshield.

Need input though on buying a new sub or building one to take 5000-8000 watts + over 45 secs. Would like to break 150dbs next year.

Looking at B2 Xce 15", EmF ermagerd v1 or v2, dc level 5/6, rebuilding a tantric shd, AA SMD, or building a custom 4" vc sub. Any input here guys?

SMD V2.

but taking that kind of power for 45 seconds will depend on the install even if the sub is built to take it. You can still break stuff if you don't know what you are doing. Should be good if you do. Good luck :)

I was looking at the Team Fi's also, just forgot to list them. Definitely a top contender for me. Price is a plus on these.

The Emf Yolo's would be sweet, but kinda worried about heat and neo magnets. Emf Ermagerd is an option though.

DC seems to be having some issues at the triple joint and with their leads here recently. I know a few guys that run them in various set-ups and seems to be the general consensus.

I can also get a tantric shd motor with ti basket and build a monster sub around $600. Or buy a 600oz ultra audio motor and ti basket, drop an 8 layer 4" vc in it, and slap a couple spiders together. Just worried about screwing up a step in the whole build process though. Especially considering what the sub will be going through.

Appreciate the feedback guys.
