JEFFYBOI
So like it says i am attempting to do 2 Crossfire C7 18s out the trunk in my Camry, yes a Toyota Camry! I have been looking for builds with 18s out the trunk and i haven't found much, probably because most people think its not possible. Well im trying to make it possible. As you can see i have cut tons of metal out of my trunk opening attempting to get enough surface area for subs and port area. Unfortunately i have reached my max width at 41" leaving it impossible to put the subs side by side and have the port on the drivers side. So i am thinking of cutting up more metal out of the rear deck and going port top or even firing the port directly up or at a angle out of the rear deck where my 6x9s were once upon a time. I am currently sitting at about 20" in height without cutting into the rear deck. Got about 45+ inches all the back. I got a easy 16-17 gross cubes. just finding the surface area is the problem. How would port firing up or at a angle through the rear deck sound? I recall Steve actually doing fixer upper on a classic car with port firing through the deck. I am aiming for 11+ cubes net 100-120 Sqr. inches of port area tuned around 30-33hz Subs specs. O.D.18.5" I.D. 16.75" mounting depth 10.5". here is a few pics. any "positive" feedback is appreciated thanks! http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g221/jeffyboirealmcoi/12088436_1165194043495937_3261826105100208695_n_zpscsvuwqqa.jpg "Toyota Camry rebuild page 21 (link)http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/183768-94-crossfire-camry-18s-walled-singer-alt-has-arrived-rebuild-starts-pg-10/page-21 PIONEER DEH-P8400BH 2 CROSSFIRE C5 1700D 2 CROSSFIRE C7 18 HOOD. Massivespl
If u wanna stay trunk wall u can angle the front baffle so there's more surface areo to make took to fit woofers and port. c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music 2 crossfire 8k 4 NSV3 18s 4 crescendo 10s 4 Rockford pro 6.5s Quad excessive amperage 350alts 4 juicebox 3100s
JEFFYBOI
Build inside the car as big as u can. Use kreg jig to make it easy building. Can u fit areo ports and woofers on same baffle? I can build some in the back seat area but i really wanted to avoid it. I will have to check out that jig. I can fit areos or a port even on the same baffle with subs if i extent out a bit into the backseat area possibly. Wall Had it walled. Wasn't really happy with it. redid the port about 6 times only hitting about a 148 on musical. (SAD) It was my first wall though... Think i needed more net cubes on air space, didn't have the power i needed as well. JEFFYBOI
Going to retake measurements and do more thinking. If i cant get it to work building in the trunk i will try for another wall. I just have so much trunk space going to waste even with amps and batteries back there, just gets expensive rebuilding and it doesn't help my woodworking skills are not the greatest. lol "Toyota Camry rebuild page 21 (link)http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/183768-94-crossfire-camry-18s-walled-singer-alt-has-arrived-rebuild-starts-pg-10/page-21 PIONEER DEH-P8400BH 2 CROSSFIRE C5 1700D 2 CROSSFIRE C7 18 HOOD. diegoclass2010
shhh that gonna be a hard one... just don't give up.. and yes kreg jig will be your best friend i can only think if you remove the back seats and have the subs there instead and just have the rest of the trunk for air space and port thru the rear deck ... good luck
CleanSierra
100-120" of port area is low for those subs in my opinion. I'd be shooting for a MINIMUM of 140", preferring closer to 150-160". If you've already cut the car up, you might as well complete the goal. You could side loss the port against a trunk wall, leaving some clearance for breathing room. Visualize how you've seen some SUV builds where they fire the port at a wheel well in the cargo area or the side of the cargo area. Make sense? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
bman8891
^ What he said, bigger port. Other than that good luck! Im sure its possible. Designing it is the fun part anyway.
Massivespl
If he's only going to have 11cubes after displacement 160" of port would prly be rather large... We just built a Cpillar wall in a trail blazer for two zv4 18s and we did about 14-15cubes after displacement with 160" of port tuned to like 33hz and it sounds nice with good bandwidth. Did a 147.6db not sealed off/ no deadener on a ct 2200amp. c-pillar flat wall 157.11db on music 2 crossfire 8k 4 NSV3 18s 4 crescendo 10s 4 Rockford pro 6.5s Quad excessive amperage 350alts 4 juicebox 3100s
