Need help deciding on new tires

Recommended Posts

I swore off continentals. I had contiprocontacts on my Genesis and they wore it in like 15k miles. Not just the rear but all four and they were rotated properly and everything and they were beyond shit in snow

I run B.F. Goodrich Rugged Terrain here great in snow and has a nice look to them also. Little pricy but they are B.F.Goodrich but these are 2nd set on Jeep.

i have always had michellin tires always.

i run the pilot sport A/S 3 staggered currently on low profiles. 225/40/zr 18 and 255/35/zr18

they are excellent in the dry summer and rain. they feel as confident in rain as dry.

winter performance is ok. not great. but it is manageable. these are not snow tires! but they can do it. My experience may be slightly bad due to running wide tires in the rear. That is worse for snow. the thinner the better for snow so they can dig down instead of float on top. keep in mind i am rear wheel drive.

I live in michigan and we have had pretty good winters. I made it through. but below 45 degrees they have a different feel to them since rubber is not optimized for colder weather they dont feel as good. ride is slightly louder. overall still better than many tires in winter. they performed well even at -23 degrees f.

overal id give them:

wear: B+, I drive them hard though and i am staggered and dont rotate. but my alignment is tuned in.

Tracktion

Dry: A-. A+ if comparing to other all seasons, but a- compared to high performance summer stickies.

Wet: A+

Snow: B-. A+ if compared to other all seasons.

I have 15k miles on them currently and they still have 7/32 tread left.

I would highly recommend. I was also looking into the conti pro contact DWS but i may stick to michellin since I have always had good luck and other on here have had bad experiences.

stay clear of goodyear!!! on my fathers buick regal gs it comes stock with goodyear eagles and within 1 year, the first tire buldged on sidewall, did not hit any curbs or holes. and within 2 years one of the tires completely shreaded! Stay clear! do not buy

Just searched all the main companies I can think of and trust. So ya I only found the nittos. Pirellis the Continental's. And the Goodyear. I'll be purchasing them from a local farm and fleet during their tire sale so I can get the balance and alignment done at the same time. Most of these if any they do not stock so they will be ordered in.

So I'm hearing not the Continental's. I heard the pirellis. Anyone say something different? I need all year performance since I can't afford winter tires at this time.
