I waited 5 days for them to fix my computer and then tell me its $100 to wipe out the system because I have some viruses

Still the DVD burner doesn't work my flash doesn't work and they want me to get live one care again

It never picked them up so why waste $60 again

So what are some good Virus programs I can get at lets say Staples, Best-buy etc

this is the one I want to get or want to try Norton anti Virus 2008

were they even able to tell you what virus it was?

your link wants a canadian postal code and wont let you see the product without one so I cant comment

Norton AV is effective enough, its a bit invasive at time but effective. McAfee is pretty low profile too...

No they didn't say

to the link just use L1A-4E2 and it should work

I can say this much about webroot: when it was just webroot spysweeper it was a free app (like spybot and adaware) and it was very effective for cleaning out spyware and malicious apps. I havent used it since it became a licensed app with a fee, but I figure if it was good enough for them to start charging, its probably worth owning now complete with AV function now too. various reviews seem to be consistent around a 7-8 out of 10, which means it will protect you well on a casual basis, if you tend to go to shady sites and download random apps via p2p or a lot of porn sites/every popup you see, then you'll be right back where you are (this goes for most AV apps really). depends on what kinda surfer you are I guess

I use McAfee and have no issues, I'm rather defensive in my surfing though. its firewall also was much more effective than my old norton install (2004 I think it was) as it was able to see chatter on my network from torrents being downloaded on another machine and advise me it was blocking pings from them. I've used trend micro, norton, mcafee and avg and I like Mcafee the best right now. it doesnt randomly reduce my system to its knees when its real time scanning new/created files of large sizes, it effectively sees the contents of zipped files and even files that have had thier fomat messed with to disquise the actual contents.

a 10/10? you'd want to go with either mcafee or norton IMO. They are both the first to react to new threats are able to be easily updated/run standalone if for some reason your connection is disabled.

Wow thanks

really Norton is good,I had it on my lap-top the issue on hand,As it came with it when I bought it and then it locked me out.

The computer techs could'ed even get on the net,so they sold me the live care BS I think the thing I don't like is the backup thing on it.As well my damn burner doesn't even work and they say its because of a Viruis

Im not sure what Pigs are or even what chatter is

But I have norton 08 right here on the Desk top maybe I'll try it again

have already put it on two computers with the same code haha so maybe I can get three not bad for $10.00

If it locks me out again I'll just uninstall it again

but I really need to get this wireless router working as I would plug the Ethernet cable from the desktop to the lap-top to go on the net .Thats what locked the computer they said

X2 I use it and I love it, My old man got me using it . Only thing is it updates each day as soon as you go online. It doesn't prevent you from starting to visit websites, but it slows you down just a little bit for 2 or 3 minutes until it gets done.

But , It works VERY VERY well.
