Yellow1000
I bought a used x12 that appears to be in good shape. Both coils work. Hooked to a p1000 Rf amp, it only moves about an inch or so but don't seem to put out much sound. What's the deal here?

Miguels
have you checked the gain on the amp? you might also want to check the signal/rca they might not be working or the deck is not sending enough voltage through them i dont think it has anything to do with the box specs its more to do with the deck/rca/wiring.. heck the sub might be wired wrong Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Yellow1000
The amp and head unit is not the issue. I removed my two DD 8s which were set perfectly and hooked this 12 up in its place. In a 2.75 cu ft box first. Then I tried a smaller box I had laying around second. Same result in either box. Like it was canceling or something?
Miguels
you might have wired the sub wrong.. it happens.. what RCA do you have.. some tend to go bad by just removing them or by bending the wire. check the phase.. you did something wrong Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

Yellow1000
Say what gunnem? I'll try to make a video tommorow. It moves. And produces sound. Just not very much at all and by not very much, one of the 508s would be much louder. I will triple check wiring again tomorrow but I'm not convinced I got the wiring backwards in two different boxes .
Miguels
it happens.. sounds like its out of phase. i once did that and had no output. i switched one wire and got loud 2. whats weird that only one sub was out of phase and that sub made my other sub not play like it should Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Yellow1000
Well. Before this goes on farther I will try it all again. I know it was taking some power , lights were dimming as it hit.
