Sorry guys, the prices were supposed to be MINUS for the smaller thickness and mdf material. We had a plus sign in there so it was actually a lot more for the MDF version when it should have been $7 less LOL.

FIXED!

Hey Steve, nice work! What is that material you used. Is it a linen phenolic or just plastic? The linen is almost like Kevlar it's so strong. Do you do the CNC programming, and if so, what do you use? My Father is the best machinist I've ever met, if you ever need something that someone says is impossible, he's the one who can do it. Let me know if you ever need some help with a project, I'd love to work with you.

Also, I feel like I should mention, if it IS the phenolic, make sure you have a respirator on and a vaccuum in place when you cut it. The gasses are very toxic if it's hot (formaldehyde) and can become a problem rather quick, that's one of the reasons it smells so bad. I doubt you're flooding it when you're cutting so just have someone stand there with a shop vac and hold it a few inches from the spindle the whole time it's cutting. Much safer, plus you don't have to clean any plastic out of the machine. It will f*ck up your eyes for a few days and your chest will hurt if you ever get one good whiff of the stuff.

It's also known as Micarta if you want to look into the material.

Happy machining bud!

-Joe P.

Got my adapters from Steve and finally put them to work today. Some speakers obviously fit better than others and i will tell you guys that a pair of Focal Access 2 ways fit kinda loose but as long as you center them, they work just fine.

Only other issue was that the mounting slots didnt line up with the factory inserts totally but not a real surprise with this car. Its an damn 96 Acura Rl. Everything on that car likes to be difficult lol

Enjoy the SMD products guys and thanks again Steve. I'll try to remember the time change next time so i dont text you at 5am lol

ya bro, the templates are based of 2 different sets of 6x9's i had at the shop and both seemed pretty standard. Some openings in some cars might be a little different but i am glad you got it working! They look great! I hope you like them :)

I love seeing pics of my new products in peoples rides! keep them coming! :yahoo::yahoo:

This might be a product that hardly anyone on this forum will need but i think some people somewhere will. Some people might have an old set of 6x9's in the rear deck and may want to put some 6.5's in, and this should do the trick. For a lot of us here we probably don't need them but as far as having more inventory to sell, it is always good to have variety. Even though i don't really see a lot of people ordering these, they were fun to design, fun to make and it never hurts to have lots of stuff to choose from in my online store. I plan on doing 6.5 to 5.25 adapters as well. Those and anything else i can think of that i can do on the CNC. They aren't officially "for sale" yet as i am DEEP in black friday weekend and swamped...but they will be up soon.

Anyhow, check out the pics!

Oh, also, now that i am done making these adapter plates, i have no need for the Kenwood by-nines. Does anyone here TRULY need them? Like don't say yes if you don't have a use for them...but if you do, speak up! first person to claim them and actually have a use for them, will get a tracking number tomorrow. :)
