Recommended Posts

How big should I make the sealed side in a fourth order bandpass for a 15" lvl 5 m3? There will be four 15's in the enclosure

depends on power, these subs technically arent designed for 4th orders

Actaully the M3 models the best out of all the other lvl 5s for a 4th. But sealed sizes will vary based on what you are trying to achieve and desired sealed resonant. However I will share what I have ran and tested. sealed per of 2.05cu will yield a seal resonant of 46hz. Which should give you a start point

I had two 10k's, I was rising to 6.6 ohms ( like 4900 watts total @ 33hz) and losing a ton of power. I am in the process of redoing the enclosure ( making sealed side bigger and opening up the port ) but my point is, I probably wont be seeing anywhere near 5k per sub.

What does make a sub designed for a fourth

Typically an efficiency bandwidth product that is within an acceptable range. Fs divided by Qes should be between a range of 40-100. High Qts can also be another good sign that the sub is suited for a sealed or 4th order bandpass enclosure.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
