XS Power

Recommended Posts

My goal is to not have step-downs. :/ Though I want to get more power for my system. So 14v is a happy medium.

I have a few questions:

  • Can I keep my 12v D6500 in the front and add 14V D1400 to the back or would I need to start over with all 14v?
  • Would it be possible to have the 12v in the front with x2 14 in a battery bank with the XS Power 14V AGM IntelliCharger which I can just leave in the back with the batteries connected between the battery bank and from the front?

The D6500 has these specs:

MAX Amps – 3,900A
CA – 1070
Ah – 75
The D1400 has:
Max Amps – 2,400A
CA – 675A
Ah – 50
So x2 D1400s would give me a bit more "storage" from what I understand but I dont understand the difference between CA and Max Amps?
Thanks!

You need all matching like all 12v, all 14v, all 16v batteries. Do NOT mix ever.

  • 2 weeks later...

Cranking amps or CA is a 30 second measurement of amperage output. Max Amps is the same measurement for a 5 second test. this is for the people that need the battery with most instant power output depending on their needs.

if you want to run 14v in the rear, you will need a stand alone way of charging the 14v batteries. either with a second alternator or a charger/ power supply.
