DavidClark
sorry to bring up an old thread! but does this mean that the lvl won't be the best choice of DC audio gear to use in a 4th order? From what i was reading, the lvl 4 12 would be best? i was really looking forward to using 1 lvl 5 instead of 2 lvl 4's to save space in my car =(The nubers show that it is not ideal for 4th order use, however I have four lvl 5 m3 15's in a 4th and it is nasty, plays lows (25hz) and does a 162.6 @ 51hz. I was worried that I chose the wrong enclosure for my subs but once I got the sealed side and port area correct I stood corrected. BTW, Thank you again Jeff for getting me on the right path! 1 Quote Pioneer 80PRS 4 Scan Speak discovery 4" full rage 2 Ampere Audio 6.5 Comp sets 3 Singer 370 Hairpin's 1 Odyssey g78/34-P1500 6 DieHard Platinum Marine g31 4 XS D3100's DC 175.4 DC 90.4 4 DC 5k's 4 m3 lvl 5 15's Soundrive RCA's Lots of welding lead & SkyHigh Team DC AUDIO

I saw the thread that you made about it.. wasn't sure if you went through with it or not.. what size or ratio did you end up going with for the sealed and ported sides? do you have any videos? 1 Quote 2008 BMW 550i M Sport Build coming soon! 2000 Volvo s40 1.9TPioneer DVD navigation head unitO2 audio performance mid range speakers2 Crescendo PWX-6 Pro Mid Range Speakers2 Crescendo PWX-8 Pro Mid Range Speakers4 Selenium ST200 Super TweetersHifonics ZRX2000.4 Amplifier2- 12 inch DC Audio Level 4 m2Hifonics Brutus BXI-1610D Amplifier2 KinetiK HC1400R- Secondary BatteriesKinetik HC600- Secondary BatteryKnukonceptz 1/0 gauge big 3 upgrade

I went with a 2.2:1 ratio but thats not really important. What I have learned is to get the sealed side correct ( start big and shrink from there) and get the port correct. Lot's of testing , removing subs bla bla bla. My sealed side is right around 2 cubes per sub 1 Quote Pioneer 80PRS 4 Scan Speak discovery 4" full rage 2 Ampere Audio 6.5 Comp sets 3 Singer 370 Hairpin's 1 Odyssey g78/34-P1500 6 DieHard Platinum Marine g31 4 XS D3100's DC 175.4 DC 90.4 4 DC 5k's 4 m3 lvl 5 15's Soundrive RCA's Lots of welding lead & SkyHigh Team DC AUDIO
satish1015
Hmm ..ok I think I have the space to go with the same specs.. The reason I'm asking so many questions is because I'm going to a shop to do this build because it's the BMW and I hear that the signal is fiber optic making it difficult to work with.. Also bmw electronics are really moody with electrical so I don't want it to fall on me if I F up lol I've seen them work with 4th orders a lot with w6's and w7's and recently sun downs.. But I'm not sure they've worked with dc and I don't think they'll be able to play with specs so id like to go with as much info as possible lol.. do you have a thread with your build so I can look at your box for ideas? corona_jeff
The lvl 5s will work m2s need some adjusting, the m4 versions seam solid. I'm impressed with the 12s, so far. I used the m2 15s for several years without much issues. Takes testing and some know how. Not a simple ported box by no means
