LSN2meBoom916
no need to get personal. i was just pointing it out as you would. Um NO.There's one MAIN difference I think you're missing....I can cut perfect circles with my jigsaw or "by hand". I don't need a router / jig. Try cutting OVALS with a router home-slice. Unless you have an OVAL jig...I don't see it happening...therefore if you want 6x9 OVALS, YOU HAVE TO CUT THEM "BY HAND"...so it was a silly comment. The rings I made for these pods fit the 6x9's so closely you couldn't squeeze a piece of carpet or the thinnest vinyl between them....so for "handcutting" these...they are less than 1/8" "off" in any given spot and the that's the thickness of the jigsaw blade. Besides, once I had the first couple rings to my liking, I used my flush trim router bit make exact copies so the it's only "by chance" that the one your talkin bout WAS actually done by hand...all the others were cut using the 1st "good one" as a jig. Forevrbumpn
nice build LSN, I totally missed this one (like so many have) creative, and pretty original I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. pcorriveau951
LSN nice build man!!! i have a special place in my heart for these trucks, my favorite out of all vehicles. Its very nice to see people building them. I hope you dont mind but im thinking im going to use alittle bit of your design for the sub enclosure wen i build my box i like th design of the four subs back there. I must say unlike what some people have commented nice job cutting out those opening for the 6x9's the drivers side picture of it finish looks really good from the picture and that isnt easy to get it to look like that with a jigsaw. So i must say props for the nice work. Looking forward to seeing the finished outcome, and good luck with you finals and all. Phil
LSN2meBoom916
...was just stating his were hand cut. why didnt you use an oval jig LSN?? Of course they were hand cut.&...Are you serious? or trying to be funny? and that they look rough? (which i dont think they are) i wanna see how the yellow looks with the bedliner as a backing for texture. probably gonna look pretty damn snazzy I don't think they looked "rough" per se...just "out of place". The super smooth look was something the owner and I had talked about...the box is textured, and not a lot of surfaces in this old school are "smooth and shiny" so I just think this is a better approach. We'll see once it's all done and done. Truthfully, If he said he changed his mind and would prefer it smooth, I'd just sand it down smooth again, re-primer and re-spray...but with that thin yellow paint I'd give it more time between coats so it didn't run. Thnx for the comments folks. Always appreciated.
