SMD Bus Bar / Easy Distribution Blocks - shipping tomorrow! New pics page 3

Recommended Posts

With the new fuse blocks done and shipping like crazy, i realized we needed some grounding blocks to go with them. Nothing sucks more than a fancy fuse block and having all your grounds screwed in all over the place...or even worse, multiple of them "8 pointed out" on a single screw into the chassis. The new blocks will give you a single point to ground to. And since they are a full on distribution block, they are also going to be just as suitable for the positive side.

This is just a proto. The plan is to make them in this size, a size bigger than this (not sure how big), and a block half this size. Also, i plan on making a double block (about this size) but with positive AND negative on it (split in two sections). I also have plans for a cover plate.

FYI: this is 1/4" Aluminum bar tapped and threaded with 1" 5/16" x 18 Stainless bolts and lock washers. It measures 12" ish irrc (this one).

This is JUST the first stages so let a brotha work here and i will announce when i am finished with this and ready to sell them.

Yes, the outside fasteners will be counter sunk so they don't stick up at all....They will be flush. This is JUST the proto! i designed this up and made it this afternoon all while putting the 19" RF sub in my sons Yukon and also a Prime 1200 watt amp in Brandons Toyota pickup on the new SMD Mini 12. It was a busy day! :)

With this would we have to run a run of wire off this that grounds to the body or am I just not seeing where the bar grounds to the body, either way, they look sweet.

nahh you run your main ground wire to the frame or the best ground you have...then everything else gets to share that grounding point. Same for the power side.

That's what I thought. Looking forward to getting some of the smaller ones and your fuse blocks once I get my build going again.
