hershy314
My laptop has been acting up lately. I will be typing something and the screen will go to sleep. If I move the screen back and forth a few times it comes back to life. What could cause this? Do I have a wire that's been pinched ? It's annoying to have this happen a few times a day. Thanks for any help. http://athphotography.deviantart.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/hershy314
_paralyzed_
It sounds like it's really tired. Maybe give it a weekend off?
hershy314
If that would fix it, I'd gladly do it. http://athphotography.deviantart.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/hershy314
hifonix
Could be a pinched cable that runs into the lid of the laptop. It could be the screen going out. Could be the connection to the screen has come loose. Hard to say without taking it apart and looking for the pinch point or something failing. _paralyzed_
It definitely sounds like hardware rather than software since it wakes up by moving the screen. If you need it for school or work I'd be really careful it may not wake up one of these times. RooTxBeeR
Check for a settings named "hard disk to go to sleep", I used to have a problem, even thought I set my sleep and hibernate to never ever happen. The PC would still turn off. Found out there is a setting deeper in the power & options settings that will turn off the HDD which then turns the pc off. Check that out. Simply "hardrive goes to sleep" in google will, at least for me, have in the search a way to stop that from happening. If that is the case.
