Cody Jackson
I would like to order a Planet Audio AC10002 amplifier, and a Planet Audio BBD12 1200w RMS DVC Subwoofer, and was wondering if these were compatible, or if I was going to run into any problems. Im still new to car audio, and wasn't sure if it was going to be too underpowered, or if the impedance was wrong. Thanks! http://www.carid.com/planet-audio/12-1200w-4-ohm-subwoofer-mpn-bbd12.html http://www.carid.com/planet-audio/anarchy-series-class-ab-2-channel-1000w-amplifier-mpn-ac10002.html
andru
well planet audio doesn't have a very good rep, both sub and amp are probably overrated in the spec but by how much on each I have no clue for $200 to find a decent amp and subs may be difficult but there are better options out there soundquebed has good products for the price, they do have subs for around $100 for the amp heres a video of a test on the 3000 watt version from the same series so you can get an idea of how much the bs on power ratings https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjqhpPT7ovLAhWKuoMKHQn-CjMQtwIIMjAD&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DeX2NGvPwkg0&usg=AFQjCNGLzEtmTUXsXtXhGXj7yxCGqYapGQ&sig2=bQAnpE7o42A3EtBkxQYyLg
Bayuk89
The sub is a DVC 4ohm (dual voice coil 4 ohms each) and the amp is a only 4ohms stable while bridged. If ur buying a DVC subwoofer its best to use BOTH coils so you wire this sub in paralle for 2ohm impedence and find a sub amp that is a mono block class D (not like the AB amp you chose from planet audio) that will RMS 500 watts at 2ohm. The kenwood, alpine and rockford mono block 500 watt amps will do just fine for that planet audio sub (NO WAY it will last long with the claimed 1200 watts) Just like andru said you should save ur money and get something else, ive ran PLENTY of cheap bargin amps and subs and let me tell you first hand than they sound and perform like CHEAP equipment. There is a reason no one on here runs planet audio stuff. Sound qubed HDS200 series subs are cheaper and BETTER quaility than those planst audio subs http://www.soundqubed.com/HDS212_p_221.html http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BMR7UPS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1456204209&sr=8-1π=SX200_QL40&keywords=alpine+mrv&dpPl=1&dpID=41Cl6y7%2BXyL&ref=plSrch For a little over $220 you can pound something of better quailty and be proud of it
Bayuk89
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BF6HYDE/ref=pd_aw_sbs_422_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=51LDCoHZllL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL100_SR100%2C74_&refRID=1BQP3A3T9RAP3RBDM3JK There is a rockford for about the same as the alpine 500 watt... Personally if you ask me, i think you need to study the basics of vehical electrical and car audio BEFORE you buy anything. If u need help trying to match subs and amps that tell me you prolly dont know very much. Not being a dick, just speaking the truth. We ALL had to learn none of us were born with this knowledge. read read read THEN buy your equipment, there is YEARS of archive threads on this forum and u will learn so much if u take the time to research
