Mason Poston
Having some questions on a dual amp setup.. I'm wanting to run 2 Soundstream ta1.3000d on 2 PSi platform 3 15. The amps are rated: 3000 rms @ .5 ohm 2500 rms @ 1 ohm Subs are the dual 2 ohm direct connect PSi 15s rated at 3000 watts rms. I've never personally installed two amps before so my question is how would i run the rca's and then how to wire the voice coils to the amps? Any help is appreciated! sweendog
http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp That should help you wire the subs however you would like to. Just plug in how many subs you have (2) and what coils they have (dual 2) As for the amp it depends how you want to run it. Those amps may be able to be strapped, if so it would probably explain how to do that in the manual. That would wire the amps together and basically would give you one "6k" if you will. Then you would only use one amp to wire your subs and change your settings. The only other way I know how to do that would be to run one amp to each sub. This way you would have to match the amps to each other, not exactly easy nor ideal. I hope that helps in someway.
Mason Poston
Thanks it does help! the amps are strappable but I read somewhere that strapped amps were mainly for a single sub setup.. is this true?
sweendog
I've only run single amps myself. However I've never heard that, maybe someone with more experience can chime in.
