I have this setup

2 SA-12's 4 ohm CT Sounds 1400.1

Currently on 4g wire I haven't had the $$ to upgrade yet.

My box is vented nothing special

Up until yesterday I was running an Alpine 600.1 and my system hit hard so I wanted to upgrade my amp found a CT Sounds I wired my SA's to 1 ohm and now it sounds like I'm using a sealed box in theory I doubled my power but I'm not feeling it.

.. What gives?

Those subs can handle that amp all day has to be a box issue, what's your port specs , I bet since u opened up some power u are choking the subs. Box needs to be 3 to 4 cubes tuned to 35 hz.

He hasn't said what his box specs are and you're already saying they're too small?

F3 is the point at which your enclosure is 3dB less than your tuning frequency. So with what you stated as being sundowns recommended enclosure specs, for a single SA-12, 2cubic feet net volume, port tuned to 35hz, you will be down 3dB at 28hz. Using what sundown recommends, you would build an enclosure that is 4 cubic feet net volume tuned to 35hz for your two SA-12's.

Is your current enclosure a prefab that you bought online somewhere, or did you build it as per a design or what?
