It's more then enough, unlike the general consensus on forums you don't need to go above the manufacturers rating.

You won't hear the difference between 1000 and 1500w

How would 500 extra watts not make a difference????? please explain.. I have a hard time understanding that..

Cone area=loud

watts=loud

right? is that not why a higher watted 12" sounds louder than a 100watt 12"?

Up to thermal limit (and this is a general rule of thumb) doubling power is worth about 3dB. Going from 1000 to 1500 isn't even doubling. 3dB is often considered just noticeable, like a click or two on the head unit.

But any system can benefit from increased headroom.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
