Bayuk89
So i had a 20 minute conversation with a MAJOR SMD partner company today, we talked about subwoofers and amplifiers. Question i have is for someone who has high experience in amplifiers..... i wont say what company i talked to because i dont drop names.... but i want to share this conversation for a second opinion on the feed back i got. Broke_Audio_Addict
I have an amplifier buying addiction, do I qualify? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. audiofanaticz
cliffs.. said vendor said dd-1 is a joke it dont work just turn your gain up half way and you should use your nose and ears or an oscilloscope to check for distortion.

Bayuk89
Thanks audiofanaticsz for the conversation, to a new boot like me, it sounds VERY convincing. Tech support guy i was talking to said he has been in the audio world for a very long time and has broke many records in comp, all while using only his nose and ears for tuning gain. Person i talked to was a tech support guy from one of the SMD partners and the guy said it was his preference and opinion on how gains should be set instead of gain matching HU and amp with distortion detector or using a o-scope to check clipping.
