Does the front battery show same voltage as the amps in the back?

good hell, it better with all that wire..... dude has more runs with one alt than i did with 2

Could be a hick up somewhere maybe. Just checking lmfao, but yes, with all that wire, resistance should be no worry at all.

try clamping at the wire going to the amp, see what you get there. Get an idea of what the amp is pulling.

Also, is your clamp capable of doing proper DC clamping? Some cheaper ones dont do so well.

on a side note, the 240 S series does about 140a idle and 225 ish hot. At least mine was rated at that. So if you are getting belt slip on a year old belt 160 might be about right.

With all that battery reserve you will not get a realistic clamp reading.

Your batteries are acting as a buffer to the drain on the electrical system, so you wont be anywhere near in the ball park of the alternators claimed power.

That is unless you deplete your battery reserve by drawing more power than the batteries can support, or disconnect a couple batteries so that only one is being used.

What's the voltage at the alt when clamped? Might have a bad diode in the rectifier.

Well he ended up selling his subs today and will be upgrading to HDC4's. So once those are in and playing we will put a load on and test them out. Thank you for your responses.
