hdorre
They were based out of FL here. Kevin Schlenker was closely affiliated with them, and then the company was renamed to Audio Legion. In the process, the boards were upgraded. The FSD is a decent budget 5k board. We got the opportunity to play around with one. ShadeTreeMechanic
How you liking the amp? I love this amp. I bought this amp on an impulse buy sort of. There are so many things that i need to do before running an amp like this. I also wanted to sound deaden the doors and upgrade the front stage first too. It is just so much fun buying a new amp i just had to. The way I have it hooked up now is on 2/0 from an AGM up front and a 250A alternator. I really needed 1 or two batteries in the back with the old amp, and the new amp needs them even more. I now have it hooked up at .5 ohm because the 2 ohm power just wasn't there. What I do know by having it hooked up this way is the FSD is more efficient and louder at the same time. With both amps I would only turn it up until the voltage needle on the dash would just start to bounce slightly. The lanzar got loud but needed more power and didnt sound as good as the FSD that plays louder. The FSD also has more power of course, and a ton more head room too. The bass is just tighter and not as boomy. It sounds good slamming pretty hard just like it sounds good at half volume. Even when hitting hard it sounds like it is holding back and it is. When I put two more batteries in the back, I will probably see what the HDS315s are made of. lol 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
sinister317
I have the FSD 1600 I love it. I'm running it at 1 ohm. How is your 5000 taking the 0.5 load?
Bayuk89
FSD came and went. lol They are another company now i forget the name. FSD turned into Audio legion, just like Audio que (AQ) turned into sound qubedGood looking amp it looks brand spanking new ! how much did u pay for it ? I would agree that you get (2) extra batteries, shes thirsty especially at .5 lol
ShadeTreeMechanic
I got it from 97Maxima for $640 shipped. It had the best packaging I have ever seen. I got the bass knob with it too but I don't know if I am going to use it or not. The fz5000d running at .5 gets warm but It has not gotten as hot as that Lanzar did. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough. lol 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

ShadeTreeMechanic
I run it daily like this. I only turn it up until the voltage starts to dip. It gets warm like any amp would. Not screaming hot or anything. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
