Jhensley209
I have a sub that is dual .5 ohms. Can i run each coil seperately to the amp and if so what ohm load would it give me?
Wasteland_Audio
That would be wired in parallel at .25ohms, which is not recommended. Instead wire it in parallel, which would put you at 1 ohm (which on most amps is the lowest recommended impedance). Here is how to wire a single sub in parallel (ignore the ohms in the picture)
Bayuk89
If your only running that one sub, best bet is to wire in series for 1 ohm load and get a 1 ohm stable amp that will put out the RMS your sub can handle I.E. sub is rated 1000 watts RMS then get an amp thats 1000 watts RMS at 1 ohm
