Again, work in progress... Project isn't finished. Hopefully we will be finished by Thursday morning. We did test bump the box in a room with a 1200/1 and it sounded really good. We wired the coils up to 4 ohms ( showed 2.96 ohms in the box in the car) and test-ghetto rigged them (just for fun) to one channel of the stock 6x9s and it was actually pretty loud(audible over the stock speakers) on 20w rms! We cant wait to get the project finished!

Love your car!! I'm building my own 2014 Camaro and it has not been easy. Car trunk is way too small, box needs to go in 2 pieces to fit, less than adequate space for amps....oh, and the height of the box is limited to 13" if you push it all the way up to the rear seats. If you move the box back 4" it can be 14" I think.

I haven't decided what to do about covering the battery, either. I have floor trim pieces for amps that effectively make the battery inaccessible. This might be detrimental for dealer servicing the car if they need to disconnect battery.

Haven't resolved that yet.

We had about 2 cubic feet without sub displacement. I think there may be a little more room you can get if you really push the limits of this size, but I am still looking at about ~1.87 cubic feet net(tuned to 33 hz and with a double baffle), and we easily put it in with one piece. I put a picture up here with our measurements. We are mounting some amplifiers above the battery, but should maintain some reasonable accessibility to the battery for service.

Hmmmm, my box is 30" wide x 13 1/2" high x 14 1/4" deep (double baffle). I don't think I even tried to get the whole thing in, I just knew it wouldn't fit. I have 2 12s, so I decided to go sealed this time.

It is possible that that could fit the way that mine did. I think the room is made when you move the stock battery positive cable away from the corner of the spare tire well that it sits in. The opposite corner of the box has to clear the back wall of the trunk and rotate down parallel to the trunk floor. I know I can fit a 14x14x28 cardboard box in there, but I think there is a little more room. If I had two subs like you do, I might try to make two smaller ported boxes or a 4th order in two parts.

We are going to try to make a 4th order (one piece) to fit into another 5th gen Camaro using that 12W6 and similar exterior dimensions.

Nice box set up! lets see those mids insatlled!

Hopefully we will have them up and working tomorrow. We finally got the amplifiers installed and working correctly, but had a few issues running them linked. Apparently the terminals on the sub are marked backwards and + is really -. When we hooked up the amps linked they didn't seem to output sound. As soon as we unhooked the RCA from the linked amp, the primary played fine. We rewired the amps to strap them instead and we were fine. Everything worked ok. We threw the DD1+ on them and I set the gains to a +10db overlap. The deck clipped at 22 out of 40! :shok:

We played a few songs with the stock mids just to see how it sounded and we were pretty happy. We think we are in the 146-147 range but didn't have a termlab available to test.

We have to clean up some of the wiring and do some finishing work still on the back, but you can see it all coming together.

We got everything hooked up and working for a few minutes of testing before we called it a night. I set the gains up on the 300/2 with a +3.4db gain overlap, but they were so powerful we turned both of them down a ton. I guess we will have to live with having a ton of headroom! The door sound proofing made a huge difference! We are going to try to do some fine tuning tomorrow on the BIT and get everything reinstalled and do some trunk finishing work. ( mount JL amps in final spot).

Nice car and build so far man. I wanted to get a Camaro but the damn trunk is just sooooo small for anything large to go in there. However, you are making it work for you. I like what you have done with it so far, keep up the good work.

Thanks man! I have been working on this for years at this point. I am so happy to finally see it through!
