Karkov 3,189 Report post #1 Posted October 28, 2016 I can be on the internet literally 12+ hours in a day at my home, no issues, but when I try and say go to Youtube and watch a LONG video a couple mins. in or less and I DC from the internet. I know this makes no sense but does it bottleneck somehow because of data transfer/packet loss?! It's the only thing I can figure that knocks me offline consistently. \ Other ideas otherwise?? I do not use a router ATM, just a Modem. I have something along the lines of high speed cable 25 down and 2 up or something like that. I have a new pretty nice computer that doesn't give me any issues. Not sure what the problem is. I have never heard of something triggering your internet to disconnect........ hifonix 62 Report post #2 Posted October 28, 2016 Do you lose any lights on your modem Karkov? Next run a line quality test at dslreports.com, you will have to create an account to run that test but it will be helpful/useful. Does it happen at certain times of the day?

Gunnem 5,400 Report post #6 Posted October 29, 2016 u could be over your limit for the month im sorry I dont have anything better there are tons of free youtube downloaders out there, if they have throttled u or u need a short term solution
n8ball2013 15,108 Report post #7 Posted October 30, 2016 Qos. Is quality of service. They are throttling you because you do bandwidth intensive things
Skullz 1,074 Report post #8 Posted October 30, 2016 If you can afford to switch your service to commercial, they cannot throttle your connection, but it will cost twice as much. Just something to look into if it is possible for you to do.
hifonix 62 Report post #9 Posted October 30, 2016 Who is your ISP? Do you have a cap per month? Once you run the test it will have a link for public to see your results, link that so we can see your line stats. Any storms or abnormal weather going on when you get disconnected? What modem do you have? Is this cable or DSL?
audiofanaticz 3,814 Report post #10 Posted October 30, 2016 By any chance are you using Adblock+? I have found that with adblock+ youtube videos load, they play a few seconds and then my screen goes black for the duration of the ad then plays normally. So now I run 2 ad blocking programs, UBlock Origin, and Adblock+ Ublock gets what adblock+ doesnt and vice versa, but I have Adblock+ disabled on youtube, and Ublock removes the ads just fine for youtube videos.
