it set mine with -15... then again i do have 4x the rise...

Explain to me What does gain have to do with impedance rise?

Hes insinuating that he needs more power.

While full tilting while being tuned with a -15dB overlap tone is dirtier than a -5 or -7.5dB overlap, ya get more powa.

But it would still be clipping right? Impedance rise doesn't limit clipping does it?

Yes, he would still be clipping. He could have something excessive like 8x rise, and he would still be clipping.

Been rocking with it set with -5db for a while now does not sound bad but feels like the amp could do a little more. Would going to -7.5 or -10db be safe? With the scv 2000d I feel really probably just a hair more power than the older saz 1500d as they both use a 150 amp fuse.

I run -10dB on mine. Every song is different though. Just keep your nose on point for the problem signs.

I start at -15 and work down from there...well now with the DD-1+ I DO WHAT I WANT

I actually start with 0 to make sure everything is working on first fire up, then go to -15 and compare.  Work my way down from there.  if you are already over powering be careful.  Do you ever smell your coils??  I tried around -7.5 but seemed like too much, right now I am at -5.5 and it seems about right (thanks DD1+)  in spring since I've had this set up for a year at that time I may play with -6 and even -6.5  (and everywhere inbetween to really get it dialed in).  Keep in mind that EVERY set up is different, what works for one person won't work for you etc.  Watch the temps of your subs, voltage, smell, etc. etc. and if the subs sound like they are too over powered etc. etc.  just readjust.  Have you figured out what your rise is??

No still haven't figured out my box rise yet. Iam currently set with the -10db track 40hz and when getting at my max volume I can start to smell the subs so I'm thinking-7.5db might be a better choice.
