oldsoundguy Posted December 6, 2016 Report Share Posted December 6, 2016 The engine I built was a 454 4bolt main block bored .60 over with a steel 396 crank to make it a 427 but really it was a 439 after boring it out. Brodix aluminum heads 11.3:1 compresson. It put down 413hp and 500ftlb on the chassi dyno. Not bad for an engine that got 12 mpg on the highway. I had to sell it just over two years ago when my wife got laid off from her job. Had to pay off some stuff so we could stay in our house and live on my income. It was a fun 7 years of owning it and making it mine. Good luck on your car. Chevelles are bad ass in my book.
