Batteries for .5???

Recommended Posts

Looking into purchasing a 5k amp but in the process of getting my electrical on point first. Have an Ohio Generator 300amp alt, 75ah under the hood and 2 d3100 reserves at the moment, how many more reserve batts should I run? I am on a budget here so going overboard is not practical.

I always go by one group 31 per 2k.....never had an issue with this method even running at .35. Can never have too much electrical though. 3-4 would give you a good bank but you might be able to get away with 2. It's your money.

I had a smaller alt but an additional battery for a 6500 at .25 lol. I pulled 936A from the bass amp, rising to .6.. And then had 1200+ to my mids and highs.

You should be fine as is. If voltage isn't what you desire, add a third g31.

Keep in mind that ~13v+ is mainly the alt.
