154+Db Honda Civic Trunk setup. DB Drag

Recommended Posts

So this will be called Box 1.0. The first box actually made for the car. It will replace the "bitch" box unless its score falls dramatically. Going to get some test time in before the end of the week. The box still could have a few things done to it. I also want to test a few other boxes before I resin or do too much with this unless results are crazy lol.

So with me first goal reached, 150db by the Toys For Tots Db drag show, I now had a chance to see what it could do on lower power. Here are the basic results.

493W - 143.7db

955W - 146.6db

1920W - 149.3db

3544W - 150.8db

Not bad considering its a trunk and my first attempt....

Awesome stuff man!

I think is really interesting how you can see a nearly 3 db increase in output with every doubling of power until you get past the 2000~ watt area. That's when the compression really starts to set in, its neat to see it in the numbers.

Hopefully I can help that some with more testing. So far its been lots of fun. Just going to keep trying things and see where it goes!

Little closer to making dbzz, got the box loaded up and wired. Going down to Stockton to buy two more banks of caps tomorrow so I'll be working with 4 banks of caps and hopefully soon 2 3.5ks. Just need an alternator and the electrical will be good enough to support it all.

Here is the box just before loading it into the car. Still need to wire in the amp.

Got some more caps. Think 4 banks should be plenty especially when I get the alternator upgraded. Put them in a holder I made for the spare tire area.

Got some testing in today. Gained about a consistent db with the new box. I have to get on the other meter to clamp it still. More work to come.

Amazing number out the trunk...damn...

Nice! I as well am fucking finally gonna get me some ultra/super caps

EDIT: since it looks as though they are hooked up how is your voltage doing going from the 2 banks to 4 (I think that's what you did correct?). I know you still have the alt situation you want to address but still...
