I currently have two 12" JL Audio W0 in a JL Audio basswedge box and running off a Alpine 500watt amp at 2ohms. I have this exact setup below in the link. I wanna know if I switch from my current setup to 1 13 JL Audio W7 in a custom ported box and run it off the JL Audio HD1200/1 will I gain output and lose output? and will I have better or worse sound quality?

I listen to regular rap music> I just need space in the trunk now. Would the JL Audio spec box work or should I go bigger?

Your losing cone area, so it might not be as great an improvement as you think.

Your going from 2 12's to one 13" on double the power, so it may be very close in output.

If you want to increase your output i would up to the 12w3 in a new enclosure on the 1200w amp you have or are getting.

I dont know what youre saying but I know I went from two 12" digital designs 2512 to a single fi audio SP4 15" and was amazed how much better the single fi audio 15 was

Boxes were about the same size and on same power

I think they would be about the same. I would take the two 12s and build a new box and put the 1200 on them. Then you would be doing something.

Yeah the JL Audio W0 is 2 12 on a 500watt Alpine amp in a JL prefab box. The single 13 w7 would be in a custom ported box and would be running off the HD1200. If I lose output I might as well go with 2 12 Sundown SA or 2 12 JL Audio W6

Anyone else can chime in? A good single 15" that will take about 1500RMS and box size wont be too big?
