Hooah87
All amps have a safe temperature they can run at, don't know yours in particular. But I've always put my hand on it if I can't hold it on for a solid five seconds without removing my hand then shouldn't be too hot. but then again there's a reason it's getting hot, would trouble shoot why , gains, ground, in sufficient air around amp to cool properly. I'm a newbie hope I helped somewhat
RooTxBeeR
Is that after 10-15 of just being powered or being used to it's fullest potential? MrSkippyJ
My t1500 is always hot. RF has really damn good thermal protection so as long as it isn't shutting off I wouldn't worry. I emailed RF about when I first got the amp about 5 years ago and they said it's normal. Part of it is just the heat sink working effeciantly they said. ShadeTreeMechanic
Are you sure you are wired to 1 ohm? Is it rated for 1 ohm? How low does the voltage go when it gets hot? Are you clipping? So many variables. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
hdorre
my t1500-1bdcp ran the same way. i was told that thats how the heatsink worked, and to not be worried unless it was thermal protecting. Broke_Audio_Addict
My t1500bdcp always ran hot, if it's not going into thermal protect you don't have anything to worry about. That's a lot of amp crammed into a small package, it's gonna run hot. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
