Low Hertz Car Audio Blazer - 6 15"s Fourth Order

Hey guys,

A few months ago my brother and I picked up a blazer off a team mate of mine to build. So I figured why not get a build log going!?

Vehicle:

1995 Chevy Blazer 4x4 4-Door

Equipment:

(6) Crossfire Car Audio XSv3 15"s (other 4 are still boxed up)

5E399F78-C4B8-47D6-9E76-495E20269730_zps

(6) Full Throttle Battery FT1100's

C8F7F405-C348-4A8A-BDF4-38A2807BD916_zps

(1) Excessive Amperage 320 Amp Alt (will be adding more!)

Still looking at our options for amplifiers.

 

Box:

Steel cage using 1x2" stainless steel square tubing

4th Order Band-pass, aiming for a 2.5:1 ratio, 3 subs per side w/ center port.

Getting the cage welded up! Took some time to make sure it was perfect (first cage was definitely a learning experience, already found spots i can improve on with the next cage i build) IMG_0031.JPG

This should be a nice build, I plan to build a steel cage in my jeep as well. Why did you opt for stainless steel as opposed to regular steel? Seems like regular steel would be easier to weld, granted it would look pretty cool if you were to tig it all.

 

Edit: Additionally I would imagine that the cost is a bit higher.

My brothers lady works for a stainless steel company so they hooked us up good! :)

And these pictures bring us 100% up to speed. We have the floor, roof, and sides cut and ready to go in. We plan to finish welding ALL seams this weekend then hopefully all of the nuts and bolts come in so we can get the shell done!
