meade916
now for the fun part.....dont laugh this is just so i can get a perspective on how a pan will look before i take it to the next step and cut the frame on the caddy once and for all. I decided to make a cardboard roll pan so i can see how its going to look. Notice the frame "rails" where the bumper slides in sticks out past where the roll pan will be. Those will get whacked as well once i have an ACTUAL roll pan in my hands. Its scary stuff butchering an expensive ride like this. meade916
here is todays work.....now the dillemma of the battery rack has been an issue for me but i think i have a solution. Planning ahead would'a been the best solution but when i built the battery rack i had no idea we would do a roll pan so it showing too much never crossed my mind. This is what i am tryin to do to get out of this mess. Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
Ok its all trimmed up with cardboard and tape to get the shape i am looking for. Now it gets covered in tin foil and then eventually covered in fiberglass. Right now its just kinda 2 dimensional and Square'ish so when i added the fiberglass i made it contour with the back and give it a rounder look. It even curls under so its not just "boxed off". meade916
Anyway im no good at photoshop but this is one trick i know how to do to take your eyes away from the fact that right now the truck is white, the rollpan is metal, and the trim piece is fiberglass. This is how it WILL look when done even though its kinda cartoony. Ive been working/waiting on it all day (glassin in ****ty weather) but i got some good progress. Tomorow i hope to have it lookin good and damn near ready for paint. Nothin like goin on vacation from my real job so i can get some work done on my side-jobs Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
Spent the entire day sanding, cheese grating, slangin' mud every direction but im feeling pretty good about it now. Here is todays progress. A little "kitty hair" to make it stronger Now its starting to take form but still tons of sanding to go. Also "blending in" the bottom where it meets the truck right above the tail pipes was tricky but it worked out good with a little elbow grease Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
