moh.vze.com
Update (Exactly 1 year later LOL): I just bought a pair of GP Car Audio No Sag 700 lbs rated coils for $400. It was a hard decision to make on whether to go 500lbs, 700 lbs, or 1000lbs coils. I didn't want go go too high above stock height where it would be hard to install it and have my brake lines be able to reach it. Current Weight in my trunk: DC5K: 32lbs XP3000: 73lbs Yellow Top: 50lbs 2x DC Audio XLM2 12's: 120lbs Second Skin Audio Damp Pro and Alpha Damp: 50lbs Wires: 100lbs Subwoofer Box: ~75lbs? Total Weight: 500lbs. The extra 200lbs should leave me headroom to add another XS XP3000, heavier 12" subs to replace the XLM2', a 3/4" MDF false floor and more wire runs. I feel like it's such a waste not to go with the 1,000 lbs rated coils for the price of 399$... thoughts? I also bought new struts and mounts for the rear to go with these new coils (hopefully they fit the GP coils): KYB 334134 Excel-G Gas Strut https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GZELFY KYB 334133 Excel-G Gas Strut https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GZELFE/ KYB SM5175 - Mount and Boot (2x) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C42SDQ/ KYB SM5469 - Insulator (2x) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C9MRBI Grand Total for KYB Products: $240.42 DC Audio - Singer Alternators - Knukonceptz - XS Power - Hybrid Audio - Rockford Fosgate - Second Skin Audio - SMD - Sundown Audio - Elemental Designs
bmwking
the no sag springs shouldnt raise the ride height at all, just be a higher spring rate so they can support the weight better. if you did the 1000lb ones, youd probably feel like you installed solid steel bar where your shocks and springs used to be, at least until you got near the 700lb mark. i think youll be really happy wih the 700lb springs and be able to put well over that weight before you start getting anywhere near your current sag. bmwking
also, after looking at their website, the $399 springs are rated to support an extra 500-1000lb, so all should be well within your range. i didnt see any that said 500, 700, or 1000. just ones with ranges. Yeah, we can decide on what 'extra' weight we wanted. I just happened to try and choose between those 3 different weights. I didn't want my ride to feel too stiff with 1,000 lbs coils when my actual weight in the trunk is currently only at 500lbs. As a result, I went with something in between the actual weight currently in the trunk to 1,000lbs DC Audio - Singer Alternators - Knukonceptz - XS Power - Hybrid Audio - Rockford Fosgate - Second Skin Audio - SMD - Sundown Audio - Elemental Designs

moh.vze.com
Would Amazon spring compressors work with these heavy duty coils for the install though? bmwking
ideally, youd take them to a shop and have them swap them out. i wouldnt risk the higher tension in some $20 chinesium compressors. I guess you have to ask yourself, how much is your face worth? if it's only $20, go ahead and risk blowing it off with shrapnel from the amazon boys. if you like it a little more, spend the scratch to have a shop do it. just my $0.
