as long as the subs are in front of the port wall i feel the straight port would be most ideal.  the folded design isn't bad just not the best.  45'n the hump in the middle back isn't going to change much.

The subs will be directly in front of the port wall and I will brace it with a 1" dowel, maybe a bigger one. The numbers line up better with the straight port as well, so if it is the better option then it is the one we will go with. I'll post the build in here. Thanks guys

How much clearance is between the  port  opening  and the  side of the truck?

I'm going to have to double check, but if I remember right I have 2-4 inches. I will have access to the truck over the course of this week to double check. How much clearance would be too little?

I've always heard at least half the port width, or half the narrowest dimension of the port. A 10x4 would need 2", but 4 would be better.

What you mention is a rule of thumb JL Audio uses to estimate the end correction for slot ports. You can read more about it the "enclosure ports" document found in their support section.

Did some work on this box with the pops. He really loves it. I put 45s in all of the corners, and the top is actually on now. I'm going to do some more work to it next week, probably stain it instead of wrapping it. We havnt put it in yet. When the thieves stole his last box and subs, they cut the seat belt. On his dodge the middle seat belt is behind where this box will sit (which is why the box has to have the indention). He is waiting on the body shop to replace the seat belt, then I'll finish his install.

This was actually my first time using birch and I really don't see myself ever looking back. I love it.

Box is all finished up, just waiting on my dad's truck to get out of the shop so I can plug and play. Having these subs out really impressed me, they are much beefier than the v.1 e series for sure! I think I have my dad convinced to ditch the 600.1 for a 1200.1 or 1500.1. The symbol on the box is the zia symbol. It's our state symbol and very traditional where we live.
