Heavy, Fat, Full, Thick, Mean Mug (Hard Rock and Metal)

Recommended Posts

Slipknot-Snuff its melodic and then it drops in about 3.5 minutes into the song.

Chevelle - The Clincher

Three Days Grace - Break

Tool and Korn can really point out weaknesses in your mids.

Plenty of songs start off nice and soft then drop in nice and heavy. Really depends on what frequency your subs are tuned to,and how your mids and highs are matched.

My car is built to play everything well, and excels at metal since that is what I listen to on a daily basis.

just about anything on this channel. Enjoy. Most of them are new or emerging artists. Spaceslug and Samsara Blues Experiment are my current favorites.

In Flames- Zombie Inc

Lamb of God...anything. But albums to highlight, Ashes to the Wake, Sacrament, As the Palaces Burn etc.

Stoner/Doom/Desert etc. bands to check out Pantera (most of their stuff but primal concrete sledge is pretty great)/Eyehategod/crowbar/Electric Wizard/Baroness/Down/High on Fire/Karma to Burn/Stoned Jesus/1000mods/Kyuss

Melvins- (a) Senile Animal

Tool...is its own animal. I own probably 2-3 copies of all of their albums. To me its the closest I get to religion. So yea..Tool is "good"

Also there are bands like Ministry, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah and Prodigy...(I guess Prodigy doesn't fit the mold but think of a MOOG synthesizer hooked up to a band and then good shit comes out)

Arch Enemy...their first two albums were good everything else is trash imho.

Strapping Young Lad understands "thick" or "heavy". Some people say that for something to be heavy you gotta slow it down. Hence the stoner/doom stuff I posted but fear factory and SYL do it really well.

Oh yea...and Animals as Leaders, Devin Townsend Project-KI and Mastodon.

Gotta go with a classic first.

Lots of folks dont like Dimmu but I do. This one's pretty fun to listen to, especially when you've got a real big substage.

Been a huge JFAC fan since highschool, and sun eater was an amazing album. Probably some of their best work thus far.

also bdm is the shit

So this came up on my ipod and damn, Austin's drums pound like a mad bitch.  Good demo for you guys.  Check it out.  And I know the bass player from this band.  He's from my hometown and part of our "music scene" we had back in the day.  Just had to throw that in there ?  Anyway, enjoy!
