Just wanted to check what the batteries were individually floating at. It was reading at 12.3 and then I took about an hour after disconnecting everything. Went up to 12.4-12.5 and settled out. Real frame grounds this time. Picked this up from Lowes for $45. Still don't know if it was worth it but it did work but maybe not $45 worth... Not sure why but I couldn't get it to make nice circles. Don't have any of the copper lugs sadly. Mitchaford Posted January 3, 2018 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2018 Added a run to the existing grounds I had so everything is connected not just through the battery terminals. Everything posted today was done today. Probably still going to go back out and put the batteries back in and connect the new grounds. I think that will be it for under the car. Caps shipped today, they are on track to be delivered on the 4th. I'm on break until the 10th but plan on having everything done by Friday. Mitchaford Posted January 4, 2018 Author Report Share Posted January 4, 2018 So the clamp meter came in today But I cannot get it to read my output from the alt or any positive run. I put it on the DC current setting. Zero it out. Clamp it on ONE wire but it doesn't read right. Its bouncing all over the place but reading super low. 10 amps, 13 amps, 5 amps. its not reading right. Feel like I'm doing something wrong but the manual said to just zero it out and clamp it on. ? I'll try and figure it out by tomorrow.
