Can I use a bank of power sports batteries??

Recommended Posts

My dad is a rep for a company that sells power sports parts and accessories. In this case specifically batteries for UTVs. I can get 30 Amp hour 12 volt batteries for about 50 bucks a pop. If I made a bank (8 to 10) of these would they work fine for car Audio?

Are they sealed?  Are they AGM?  If they aren't sealed I wouldn't keep them in the cabin area, but if you have a pickup and are going to keep them in the box/toolbox then it wouldn't matter as much.

They should work for car audio.

10 batteries for a total of 300 ah for $50 each = $500 total

3 XS Power XP3000 for a total of 360 ah for as low as $260 each = $780

I may actually even get them for cheaper than 50 dollars. I believe the UTV batteries are sealed but I wil have to look and see.

May look at that too. These batteries are name brand though. I get them for distributor price which is a lot lower than dealer cost.

While I'm here, how many amp hours should I have for 3k Brazilian power? As well as 8k. I plan on buying the 3k first, beefing everything up and then buying the 8k.

I think a general rule of thumb is100aHper1000watts, but you can't have too much battery so more than that if you can support it

Makes sense. Thanks!
