Tahoe Dmo
What do you guys recommend running for 7,500 watts at .5 ohm? It's an scv7500 on 2 z v.5 15" d2s. I currently have 2 Mechman 270s and a stock alt on a triple bracket with a D3400 up front and 4 D3100s in the back, but it still doesn't seem like it's enough. It goes into 11s even while driving. 02 Tahoe 5.3L
WalledSonic
You may want to check the integrity of your components. I have a SCV6000D wired down to 0.8ohm with a Singer 240A and (1) D3400 and (3) D3100s, and I dont dip below 12.0 at idle. You should be fine with all the alternator power you have. Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me either. But I've looked everything over, charged up my batteries, etc. and it still isn't as solid as I'd hoped. I was banking on never dropping below 13s, but that didn't happen. Granted I don't drop to 11s all the time, but I do see it.
WalledSonic
Load test your alts and check each battery's voltage independently. Measure final impedance of the subs going into your amp to confirm you're actually at 0.5ohm and not lower. Karkov
OP, that does seem low. Check amperage alts are making and load test all batts as already stated. maybe you're at lower ohmload? 6 phase alts or no? Does your vehicle hot charge low like in the 13's? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. ShadeTreeMechanic
You might have a bad connection somewhere or a battery might be going bad. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
Tahoe Dmo
I definitely thought something was strange too. I figured my electrical would be solid enough. But everything is fine. I tested everything. The alternators are all less than a year old and all the D3100s are just a few months old. I don't know what it could be. I know my amp pulls like 800 amps, so I thought maybe I needed more alternator power, but I see plenty of guys out there running more with less. I don't know.. It's very annoying. ShadeTreeMechanic
How many runs do you have front to back? Are you grounded to the frame for both the front and rear batteries? Big 3 I assume? Maybe if you could post a few pictures of your wiring it would help us understand what you have. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

I have 4 runs + and - of 1/0 sky high ofc. Big 3 done. Front and rear batteries are both grounded directly to the frame. Stock alternator is in stock location with stock wiring. The 2 Mechman 270s both have 1/0 on + and - . I'll try and post some pictures here in a few.
