Can i use any type of HARDWOOD too build a Sub Box?

Hi Steve,i know most people build Sub Enclosures out of MDF,what i want too know is can i build a Sub Enclosure out of any type of HARDWOOD,and will i get a better THUMP,i'll tell you now that i want a more Low end Thump between 20 htz and 30 htz, but i also want it too be Loud but i still want too hear the music,i'm more Audiophile?.

Most hardwoods are a terrible material for building a box out of.  Not the least of which reason is because they usually dimensionally unstable.  Having your box split/crack because the weather changed is no fun.

Forget MDF. Yeah it's cheap but also heavy. My last enclosure I built from birch. More expensive than MDF but also much more lighter. My next enclosure I'll be using baltic birch. See how that goes soon.

 

Any enclosure built from diff wood won't change sound.

Prob means better bass. WTF is better bass?!

 

I this so and so wood to be more bassy than that other wood. Sorry buddy not gonna happen.

 

A good enclosure design  to match your needs, trunk, suv will be better off that way.
