how to power a Sundown X-15 with a 75 amp alternator?!

Recommended Posts

G'day from down under (Australia) land of kicker audio :p Not for me!

I have been speaking to Bryan from Sundown he has helped me choose the right sub have decided I want a X-15 w/spl cone to hit a few higher notes. but now I need your help.  My Suzuki swift has a measly 75 amp alternator! where do I start? I looked at Mechman and Iraggi, but no one seems to sells a higher output alternator for this car.  So I am on a budget anyway so what can I do to avoid upgrading the alternator will simply good battery under the hood or add 1 more? Finally what amp a AQ2200.

I'd love some input peeps!

Replace starter battery and get a matching brand agm battery for the rear if you can.

I'd suggest XS Power but in know that import cost would be nuts so I'd look at any local battery shops and see what they carry.

Do you already have that AQ2200? Solid amp that would work well with that x-15

enough battery reserve to protect the amp board if all you can have is 75 amp alternator.  Best of luck

hell, just buy batteries. Have you tried singer alts or us alts? anyway. i ran a 1500 on a 60amp alt and two g34's. it did fine. music isnt just playing a test tone at max load. so yeah. rock on, dont clip and have enjoy.

Get 2 good AGM batteries : one for underwood, and the other in the back.

The AQ2200 is a good choice, but you can try less power (like 1500) : it won't be less loud to your ears, and will be easier on the electrical.

Everything is in the box.

This.  I ran (4) 15s on a measly 1500W amp for 2 months and I was very pleasantly surprised at the output due to the good box design.
