06RTCharger Posted July 15, 2017 Report Share Posted July 15, 2017 If u could add a ring terminal mounting location to the rear housing of ur alternator, u could just ground the alt directly to the frame. The reason for upgrading the engine block-to-frame ground wire when doing the "big 3" is so that ur alternator has a better ground run. Grounding ur alt straight to the frame would be a lil better then grounding ur alt thru the actual engine block and then thru the engine blocks ground wire. Upgrading the engine block ground wire would still be a good idea just to have a better ground for ur motor and all its electronic parts to run thru. Better grounds are always good. U could do the alt ground now since ur in a rush. Then u can take ur time finding the stock grounds and upgrading them.
