Joshoe
So i've been looking at Fi's SP4 v2 and BTl NEO 15. Can anyone attest to either one and biggest differences (beside the neo)? I currently have a SCV-2k and don't plan on going any bigger. I had a sundown zv4 12 and like the characaterisitcs and how low it could play, so i would want something similar. So far besides features, playing around in WinISD the SP4 looks more promising.. Not sure why the BTL has the dip.. (Maybe because the parameters because of the neo?) Thanks in advance... bkolfo4
They are both great drivers. The BTL definitely has the ability to be louder at or below its max power if you are looking for a score on a meter, but the SP4 is a low frequency monster. Your dip is only 3 dB. It is just how that driver reacts in the box you have it modeled in. Not uncommon, and in a vehicle will more than likely unnoticeable. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. slowfkncar
The Q or BTL would do nice off that amp. Q. BTL. SP4 FS. 30.7 32.8 27.9 Sens. 88.7 90.8 86.4 One way (MM) 34mm 34mm 33mm RMS. 1750. 2500. 3500. Coil diameter. 3" 3" 4" All good woofers, the Q would wang the lows on 2kw and sound good doing it where as the BTL would ask for more. I've never owned an SP4 but on paper that thing looks like it needs power to do its "intended" job.

Then i guess it doesn't make sense.
8ten8
Impedance rise is something to consider also. With the amount of power your willing to use, maby an X15 or zv4 15 would be a better option. Or maybe a 18. Car Audio Bargin has some b-stock available. My zv4 i had in a almost 3.75 cube box. Beat the living hell out of that thing!
bkolfo4
When will people ever get off impedance rise??? Crap.
