Broke a tap (and my heart) in the copper. WalledSonic Posted September 19, 2017 Author Report Share Posted September 19, 2017 Decided to weld the parts together for my alternator adapter bracket. Had to trim the spacers. Didnt have the right tools, so I made some. Do NOT try this at home, unless youre a risk taker without the right tools, in which case, please proceed. The weld nuts have a little ridge to keep them centered. I got a bit thats juuuust the right size Now the weld nuts are square and tight in their reliefs/rabbets/recesses Now everything is clamped up for welding. Still need to hit it with a flapper disc but it was raining and I didnt want rust all over the garage. Gonna finish up by welding the spacers and washers into place. Then I'll have only 2 total pieces plus the alternator and 4 bolts. Simple.
