WalledSonic
So everything is stained with 2 coats on all visible faces and a single coat for any back-side areas. Glue lines wont soak up stain really well on a single layer of stain. Glue lines get covered up pretty good after a second stain though. Also laid a single coat of satin clear last night. Its easy to think that you've stained it too dark. But the application of the clear urethane is where the magic happens. Here's the spread today: So on the first coating of urethane, you may have a lot of fibers causing roughness. ...and it may look OK in some lighting, but this is unacceptable after spending so much time already A sanding block is nice, it really helps knock off the high spots without gouging the part After a wipe down, it doesnt seem like much has happened, but it feels super smooth. Also, I didnt sand through the clear and into the stain, just scuffed the high spots off the urethane layer Great products, highly recommended So for the second and third coats, I recommend wiping down with a cloth instead of using a brush. I'll follow thru with second and third coats of clear to show off how much it brings the color back out of the wood after its been stained heavily Chevy Sonic Wall (4) 15's on 10k Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209412-2015-chevy-sonicwall4-15s10klithiumlarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ (4) Fi SP4 15's | (2) Ampere 5Ks | Active! | Arc KS600.2 & KS125.2mini | CDT Silk Domes | Silver Flute 8s | 240Ah JY | US Alts Jeep Wrangler JK (4) 8's in a 4th Order Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209841-shadow-2016-jeep-wrangler-jk4th-order4-8sdc-35klarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ IG @walledsonic
