Audible carnage was a good show, but honestly, it rained like 50% of the time. I spend most of the show with teammates under a pop up bullshitting.

Looking great tho man!

Man, I wouldnt have been able to show off the amps and all the wood grain with all that rain.  My Stunt Level woulda been too low haha.

Next step is to get some heavy welding done to secure the box better and then get the SP4s installed before another show.  These PSI's play alright for my daily but I dont know if they can take the 2 5Ks in demo conditions.

More copper cant be bad

Forgot to get a pic of it lit up.  Visible at night as backlit numbers and during the day as white numbers.  Always visible.

Started removing the butyl and stock deadener at the weld points (to secure the box better)

Just need to grind the paint off before welding

Also decided to fit another set of 8s in my rear doors (they only hold a 6.5" stock).  Took a silver flute out of the front door for fitment.  Here, you can see the inside of my front doors.  Lots of coverage

40623343501_a4fbf83c82_b.jpg

Made a cardboard mockup of the adapter ring, which doubles as a door-support beam.  The door panel is in the way above and the door panel attaches on the bottom so space was tight.  Seems to be a theme in this build.

Next drilled some holes and jigsawed some radial slits

Bent the tabs back

Heres the passenger door, same deal

40581519952_5437c32fbc_b.jpg

I also fitted with a PWX8 just in case i get tired of the Sliver Flutes.  The PWXs are bigger

39728078205_043fe66c38_b.jpg

Then traced the first one to a second one

38813813580_1de1017a79_b.jpg

So about these braces stiffening up the door.  The door started ripping at the window motor support bolt.  I drilled out the tip of each crack and installed a wide washer for now

Well shit lol

The windshield's center layer was heavily chipped out along the edge, here's a future crack getting ready.

And the whole top edge...

I have a little background in the welding business. If you need a hand give me a shout. Its been a few years but I can still strike an arc and run a bead.

Finished up the rear doors this weekend.  Also received some new mids.

8 ohm Silver Flutes.

25886191737_d33d9b0c56_k.jpg

The door is so much more solid with the brace in place

26886253358_e46f1b138b_k.jpg

Gonna run 3 flutes per channel into my 1200W Arc KS600.2 for a final load of 2.66 ohm per channel.  This is the 1200W amp sitting on top of my 700W Arc 300.4.  The 1200 should put out around 900-1000Wrms at 2.66ohm, which is 180 per flute.  Thats a bit too much power, but you can always turn the gain down.  I couldnt get the ohm load I wanted out of the 700W 4ch.

25886188247_aee2a782fa_k.jpg

Then I started on the bracing for the front of my box.  The box is currently sitting on the gas tank hump without any connection to the chassis in the front, so the front of the box moves up and down about 1/16" - 1/8" when I hit a hard bump in the road.  The rear of the box is well secured, so no worry about it coming loose.

Here's all the metal cut and ground, ready for weld.

Welding with gas is like silk compared to flux core.  Very little spatter

26886247278_8591b2e637_k.jpg

Beefing up the notched portion with extra angle

26886248598_9e88596316_k.jpg

Had to put it in the car and tack everything into place

25886171827_123702477d_k.jpg

I probably laid only about 10 feet of weld bead in total, ever, so I'm still practicing.  This is one of my better welds

26886244048_50e226d5a0_k.jpg

Mostly finished up, with some paint and primer sprayed on

40756762081_3b8fe164d2_k.jpg

I had a lot of trouble getting the setting right to weld to the 20 gauge chassis steel.  The welds penetrated just fine but theyre all boogered up. Ugly but secure.

40046896644_433c375138_k.jpg

All finished up

40756755561_2c8d479e51_k.jpg

Also decided to weld a 1/4" steel ground pad to the rear chassis for the lithium ground

26886246198_2a12123498_k.jpg

Here you can see the weld had penetrated thru 2 layers of 20ga steel.  Painted later, of course

40756757051_181b9e2f4a_k.jpg

Bolt installed from the bottom and then painted the welds

Hell yeah. Your "best" welds looked pretty good actually. Long as to have good penetration (that's what she said) the looks don't matter so much.  I love the constant upgrading still even after you have created a monster. Keep it up man.
