sundownz
When will the 2000d be out? And will it do 3k @ .5? It'll be out later in the year - I'd estimate October to November. I've tested them around 2900 watts or so on burps @ 1/2 nominal. I run in the NSPL and i'm having trouble keeping up with the 2k6 so i'm looking for something that will put out about the same power. I rate my current draw for what size fuse a customer can reasonably expect to require - and since I don't manufacture my own fuses it has to work with an off the shelf Stinger or other brand. Unfortunately, the rules in nSPL don't differentiate actual current draw and what is written on a fuse or in the manual. In any event, the 2000D should be pretty competitive. My build house did it based on my sketch and requirements, so unfortunately I couldn't tell you Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]
mbdblue
damn those new ones look real nice. I loooove the blacked out look....and I didnt realize the 1500D is rated 3000@2 ohms! I may consider that instead of the colossus.... They aren't quit THAT underrated to do it from one amp *laughs* The whole SAE amp line will have this look, the SAX and SAZ will remain as always. I understand why you won't under-rate the fuse rating but what about a special edition amp like a NSPL-3000D with a special 200a fuse rating? Then you could limit the buyers to actual competitors who understand how to properly use the amp. Just an idea.
